ABOUT US
The Consortium of Academic and Research
Libraries in Ghana (CARLIGH) is a group consisting of academic and
research libraries in Ghana. It was established on 17th
August 2004. The main focus of CARLIGH is to join efforts of these
libraries to have maximum use of resources and other facilities. The
links on this page will lead you into pages of participating
institutions.
VISION The
vision of CARLIGH is to be a centre of excellence in providing recorded
knowledge in all formats, for teaching, learning and research activities
in Ghana.
MISSION The Mission of CARLIGH is
to employ collective information resources, available technology, and
staff capabilities to improve teaching, learning and research including
life long learning, in member institutions and by extension in Ghana,
and do all such like things as to ensure the achievement of CARLIGH’s
objective
CONSTITUTION CARLIGH is governed by a
Constitution which was approved by members and came into force in August
2004. See Constitution
LEGAL STATUS The Consortium has the
support of the Vice Chancellor’s Ghana (VCG). It has also applied for
registration with the Registrar-General’s office in Ghana. Members have
also signed an Agreement to formalize their membership. It has two Bank
Accounts, Foreign and Local, in reputable Banks with three signatories,
two of whom shall sign at any given time.
